How to survive an iPhone liquid submersion | ZDNet

I can confirm that the rice trick works. My wife’s iPhone fell into the toilet (which had clean water in it at the time). We powered it off and stuck it in a bag of rice for two weeks. Upon removing it from the bag of rice and powering it back up, it worked perfectly. No water under the screen (which had been the case) or anywhere else. If you own a smartphone, it might be a good idea to keep a ziploc bag filled with rice in your house to save your phone if something like this happens to you
